GEL POLISH FAQS

Gel polish is a nail enhancement product that combines the properties of nail polish and gel. It's cured under a UV or LED lamp, resulting in a long-lasting, chip-resistant manicure.

Regular nail polish air-dries, while gel polish requires curing under a UV or LED lamp. Gel polish is more durable, lasts longer, and is less prone to chipping and peeling than regular polish.

Typically, a gel manicure can last between two to three weeks, but this can vary depending on application technique, nail health, and lifestyle.

When applied and removed correctly, gel polish shouldn't cause significant damage to natural nails. However, improper removal, such as peeling off the polish, can weaken the nails.

It's generally recommended to use a lamp that's compatible with the gel polish brand you're using. Most LED lamps can cure most gel polishes, but curing times may vary. UV lamps also work, but generally take longer.

Wrinkling often occurs if the gel polish is applied too thickly, preventing it from curing properly. Apply thin, even layers, curing each fully. An old or weak lamp can also cause this.

Proper nail preparation is key. This includes gently pushing back the cuticles, removing the shine from the nail plate, and dehydrating the nails. Capping the free edge of the nail with each layer of gel polish also helps.

Store gel polish bottles in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. This prevents the gel from hardening or changing consistency.
